Portland Bridge Pedal

Sunday morning, Aug. 14, will be the 26th annual celebration of bicycling, offering the opportunity to bike across the car-free upper decks of both the Marquam and Fremont bridges. post faq

This first Bridge Pedal was held in 1996 but it all began two years earlier. Doodling in a boring meeting, Bridge Pedal’s creator, Rick Bauman, stumbled on the idea for a celebratory bike ride: crossing Portland’s Willamette River bridges. post

This routing includes crossing seven bridges, including the upper decks of the Marquam and Fremont bridges and a thrilling ride through downtown Portland on I-405, all on car-free streets. post enlarge
