I spoke recently with friends about alternatives for writing and distributing applications written in Javascript, specifically those coded as progressive web applications, PWAs. I have pondered what further advice I might offer but I have trouble distinguishing various approaches without understanding the nature of your ambitions.
I assembled a list of possibilities thinking they might choose a few or offer their own in an email reply. I wasn't proposing wiki but I've always considered ordering lists a strong feature of how this wiki works.
want
• simple software distribution to users
• an application-like experience when offline
keep
• code or library sharing with others
• ease in creating vivid data visualizations
• continuous data collection from feeds or users
whatever
• ease of creating forms and similar user-interfaces
• high data throughput for mega or gigabytes
• low latency for updating or exploring alternatives
• expressive coding of repetitive tasks
• expressive coding of complex algorithms
• ability to recruit coders as volunteers or employees
• remain current with evolving trends
.
Rearrange or add to this list to suggest how we should focus our attention over the coming months.
